Kuwait 1990 – A Marine squad is on mission to a remote settlement in the Kuwaiti desert.  Their orders are clear – find and eliminate all hostiles.  But when one of the squad members unearths a strange relic, he learns the mission’s true purpose.  But before he can make sense of what he’s found, he’s killed in action and the circumstances surrounding his death are immediately covered up by orders from high up within the military leadership. 

Los Angeles (20 years later) – Black market tomb raider & treasure hunter, Mark Derringer, is hired by a young woman to investigate the origins an unusual artifact, that she believes is connected to her father’s death.  But when a former friend from Mark’s past joins the search, things get even further
complicated.

Meanwhile, there are other sinister interests at work, desperate to learn the artifact’s secrets, and they’re willing to kill anyone who gets in their way.  From Los Angeles to Baghdad, from the stretches of The Mojave Desert to the catacombs of a Medieval Citadel, Mark must race to solve an ancient puzzle.  His search will reveal the true origins of human civilization and uncover one of his own secrets.

An group of hackers, known only as “The Disciples of Anarchy,” have managed to steal a highly classified computer program from the NSA, called Cerebrum.  But their daring heist had put them at the top of DARK’s most wanted list.  Fearing for their lives, the last surviving members seek out the one person they know can help them…

After his adventure in Egypt, Mark Derringer is hoping to stay low and off the radar.  But when he’s approached by The Disciples, he quickly gets dragged into another standoff with DARK.  Using the advanced program, Mark uncovers evidence of a planned terrorist attack in a major American city.  And he has only hours to stop it.  But Mark suspects the terrorist plot may be just a ploy to distract him from something far greater – the true origins of Cerebrum and, more importantly, what its capabilities are.  And the more involved Mark gets, the more he realizes why everyone is willing to kill to get it.
